Teaching Areas:

17th and 18th-century French literature, French language and composition, translation, women's writing.

Research Interests:

17th and 18th -century French and German theatre, relations between various forms of literature and painting (word and image studies),  formal rhetoric and literary language, Carl Jung's thought and Jungian readings of literature, the thought of Leibniz as reflected in French socialist writings of the 1830s and 1840s, the thought and writing of George Sand.
