Jeannette Gaudet wrote an Honours thesis under Janice's supervision. The title of the thesis was: "Créateurs et créatures: le thème du monstre dans Notre-Dame de Paris et Frankenstein". Jeannette went on to obtain her Masters and Ph.D. from Dalhousie University. She is currently an Associate Professor at Saint Thomas University in New Brunswick.
Valerie Cosman completed an Honours thesis on "Amour et passion dans trois romans de Balzac". She later obtained a B.Ed from the University of Toronto and now works at the Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro.
Béatrice Larochette wrote an Honours thesis on "Conflits monde et demi-monde dans La Dame aux camélias et Nana", April 1997. She has completed her Master's and Ph.D. at Dalhousie University and now holds a position as Assistant Professor at Lakehead University.
Paige Ferguson completed an Honours thesis entitled "La quête de l'identité dans Copies conformes de Monique Larue", April 1998. Robert Proulx co-supervised this thesis. Paige completed a degree in Education at Acadia.
Anne MacKinnon wrote an Honours thesis entitled "Une analyse sémiotique de trois nouvelles de Michel Tournier", April 1999. Anne (pictured below) completed a degree in the Master's of Library Science programme at Dalhousie University and now works in the Dalhousie Library.
Catharine (Thari) Garrah (shown below with Janice's colleague Giselle Corbeil) has finished an Honours thesis comparing Victor Hugo's novel Notre-Dame de Paris with Disney's recent animated film version. She obtained a degree in Education at Brock University and is now working as a teacher in Ontario.
Derick Bulley completed his Honours thesis in 2004, working jointly with Janice and with Leigh Whaley in the Department of History and Classics. His thesis was entitled, "Révolution, réaction, répression: la politique de contrôle et la censure théâtrale en France au XIXe siècle". Derick is pictured below with co-supervisor Leigh Whaley, and Honours student Danielle Gallant with her supervisor, Romira Worvill. Derick was awarded the University medal as the top student in History. Danielle received the University medal as the top student in French and the Hayward medal as the top student in the Faculty of Arts.
Nicole Corbett worked as Janice’s research assistant for two weeks in Paris in June 2005. She wrote an Honours thesis under the direction of Dr. Romira Worvill based on the film, Ridicule and received the University medal as top student in French. Nicole is currently completing her Ph.D. thesis on the theme of regret in 18th century memoirs in the French Department at McGill University in Montréal and she will be entering the Ph.D. program at McGill in the fall of 2008. Stephanie Patterson and Jennifer Young worked as a team and accompanied Janice to Paris in February 2009. All three worked for 10 days in the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, the first public library in Paris, which opened in 1763. Stephanie is currently enrolled in a B.Ed. program at Acadia and Jen is spending a year in Poitiers, France where she is an assistante d’anglais.
Katie MacCormac worked as a research assistant for Janice from February to June 2010. Katie is currently enrolled in a B.Ed. program at Acadia.
